THE CHALLENGE

“We agreed something” isn’t much to go on.

The agreements between friends and family almost never get written down. Months later the details are fuzzy, memories differ, and a good relationship gets strained over who said what.

HOW IT WORKS

From a chat to something you both hold.

Free, private, and done in minutes. Nothing to install.

Pick a simple template

Start from a plain-language template for a loan, a private sale, or a flatshare, or write your own terms. No legalese, just what the two of you actually agreed.

Send it to the other person

Share a link by message however you like. They open it on their phone, with no account needed, and read exactly what you both agreed.

They sign on their phone

The other person reads it and signs on their own phone. It takes a minute, and what you agreed is written down instead of half-remembered.

You each keep a copy

Both of you get a signed, timestamped copy in your own vault. It’s private to the two of you, and it’s there if you ever need to look back.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Everything you need. Nothing you don’t.

A clear record between two people, without lawyers or paperwork.

Plain-language templates

Loans, private sales, flatshares, and favours, written in words a normal person can read. Or start from blank and say it your way.

A signed, dated record

The other person signs on their phone and the agreement is stamped with the date and time, so what was agreed is written down rather than remembered differently later.

Private to the two of you

This is personal. The agreement is encrypted and visible only to the people who signed it, and to nobody else.

Done on your phones

They sign on any phone in a browser, no app or account required, wherever the two of you happen to be.

Kept, not lost

Each copy lands in your vault, timestamped and easy to find again months later, when the details have gone fuzzy.

Keeps things friendly

Writing it down once, clearly, is what stops a good relationship souring over who agreed to what.

WHO USES IT

For the agreements between people.

The everyday arrangements that matter, even when there’s no company involved.

Lending money

Lend a friend or family member money with the amount, the date, and how it’s paid back written down, so nobody has to guess later.

Private sales

Selling a car, a bike, or furniture between individuals: record the item, the price, and the condition as it changed hands.

Flatshares & housemates

Who pays what, the deposit, the house rules: a simple shared record everyone in the flat agreed to.

Favours & swaps

Borrowing, pet-sitting, lending a tool or a camera: a light record of what was agreed, just in case.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is a written agreement between two people legally binding?

A signed, timestamped agreement between two people is a genuine record of what you both agreed. For anything high-value or complex, we’d still suggest speaking to a professional. Between Us is designed for the everyday agreements that normally never get written down at all.

Do both people need an account to sign an agreement?

No. You create the agreement and share a link; the other person opens it and signs on their phone with no account needed. If either of you wants to keep and review your agreements, you can use the consent.app companion app.

Who can see a private agreement between two people?

Only the people who signed it. It’s encrypted and private to the two of you.

Is it free to put a private agreement in writing?

Yes, you can create and sign personal agreements for free. Set one up and see the record it leaves.
