Terms of Service
The rules for using this website. Signing up for consent.app is covered by a separate agreement, and the mobile apps by their own terms.
Last updated 4 August 2026
1. What these terms cover
These terms govern your use of the consent.app website at consent.app: the public pages describing our product. By browsing the site you accept them.
They do not govern the consent.app service itself. The web app at consent.app/portal is covered by a separate agreement you accept when you create an account. The mobile apps are covered by their own terms, together with the rules of whichever app store you install them from. On anything to do with the product, those documents decide, not this one.
2. Who you are dealing with
This website is published by XLCloud GmbH, Kaiserstraße 161, 76133 Karlsruhe, Germany. Our register court, company number and VAT identification number are set out in full on the Impressum. You can reach us at info@consent.app or info@xlcloud.com.
3. Using this website
You are welcome to read these pages, quote them with attribution, and share links to them. We ask that you do not:
- interfere with the site or the systems serving it, or try to gain access you have not been given;
- scrape or copy it wholesale, or place automated load on it beyond ordinary browsing;
- reproduce it in a way that suggests we wrote, endorsed or approved something we did not;
- use it for anything unlawful.
Creating an account is not part of this website. The “Start for Free” and “Log In” buttons hand you over to consent.app/portal, where a separate agreement applies.
4. Our content and trademarks
The text, design, graphics, illustrations and code of this website belong to XLCloud GmbH or its licensors, protected by copyright. The consent.app name and logo are our trademarks. Reading the site gives you no licence to use them, beyond ordinary quotation with attribution plus the fair uses the law already allows. Apple, the Apple logo, App Store, Google Play and the Google Play logo belong to their respective owners.
5. What the pages promise
These pages describe what consent.app does, and we take care to keep them accurate. They are marketing material rather than a contract or a specification. Features change, and a page may describe something that has since been altered or withdrawn.
Nothing here is legal advice about your own consent, privacy or record-keeping obligations. Where those matter to you, take advice from someone qualified to give it. What you are actually entitled to receive from the product is set by the agreement you accept when you sign up, not by anything written here.
6. Links to other sites
Some links take you to our own places: the consent.app web app at consent.app/portal, and our careers site. Those are ours, but each is governed by its own terms and privacy policy, not by this page. Once you arrive, that document applies instead of this one.
Other links take you to sites we have nothing to do with, such as the Apple App Store and Google Play. We have no control over what they do or say, and take no responsibility for their content.
7. Availability
We aim to keep this website up and working, but we do not guarantee it will be available without interruption or free of errors. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including individual pages, at any time and without notice. No service level applies to this website. Any service commitments for the product are set out in the product agreement.
8. Liability
We are fully liable for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intent and gross negligence, and under the German Product Liability Act. We are also liable for ordinary negligence where it breaches an obligation essential to the purpose of these terms, and in that case only for foreseeable loss typical of this kind of agreement.
Beyond that, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, and none of this affects the liability arrangements in the separate product agreement.
9. Privacy
How this website handles personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy, with your rights summarised on the GDPR & CCPA page. In short: no advertising cookies, and analytics only if you agree.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the website changes. The current version is always the one published here, with its date shown below. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
11. Governing law
German law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Where you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, nor of your statutory place of jurisdiction. For merchants and legal persons under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Karlsruhe, Germany.
